Atomic Layered Staircases

Description:
The figure shows two micrometer thick atomic layered staircase-like slabs of tin selenide semiconductor. These layers are due to intrinsic crystallographically layered nature of this multifunctional chalcogenide based material. The image is as taken and not been enhanced in any way except coloration.
