The photograph is a scanning electron microscopy image of molybdenum oxide thin film, deposited on fluorinated tin oxide substrate, by sol-gel spin coating technique. The morphology of the surface appears as ‘Ghostly forest’ branches. The picture is as taken and not been enhanced in anyway except coloration. Many thanks to Dr. Jim Buckman for his support, Centre for Environmental Scanning Electron Microscopy, Heriot-Watt University, where the work was carried out.
