Description: 
Upper surface of leaf showing 'hairs' and water droplets. Micro-droplets are spherical indicating that the surface is hydrophobic, which allows water to run off the surface. Taken under ESEM wet mode in an environmental scanning electron microscope (ESEM), using a Peltier cooling stage.
