Description:
Lasers can be used to generate colour marks on engineering metals for various applications including anti-counterfeiting and aesthetic marking. Using a high power lasers, a range of colour marks have been generated on copper and steel. This is an SEM image of a colour mark on copper; feature size <1µm.
