The image, obtained by SEM, shows the strand and fibres of PTFE that make up the membrane material. The membrane is used in water filtration systems, known as membrane distillation. It is one of the most effective filtration methods, capable of removing 100% of bacteria, heavy metals and dissolved salt from water.
