Description:
Single mode optical fibers (SMF28) are being used to make Fabry-Perot Sensors, throughout a process of cleaving, chromium coating and splicing. We took this image with SEM technique to check if there is any devitrification of our fiber, after being in high temperatures (above 900 C) for almost 5 months. This is a scratched tip of an SFM28 fiber of 125um diameter.
Equipment used:
Scanning Electron Microscopy
