Description:
Nano sized polymer beads have been self assembled to create a photonic crystal. Defects in synthesis cause variations in colour as well as changes in size and shape of the crystal planes. This technique is used for enhancing the conversion of infra-red to visible photons to improve the efficiency of solar cells.
