Description:
A three dimensional image of a human cancer cell fixed in time. The colours denote two distinct proteins involved in cell survival, which reside in discrete locations as shown, but in response to threats to cell health they rapidly relocate to work together in coordinating a phenomenal survival response.
Equipment used:
Image acquired with a Leica SP5 confocal laser scanning microscope and processed using both Huygens Deconvolution Software (SVI) and Imaris (Bitplane). All equipment and software provided by Edinburgh Super-Resolution Imaging Consortium.
